Privacy policy

1. In short

gogonut collects no personal data. The app opens no network connection, sends nothing to any server, and contains no user account, no advertising, no tracker and no analytics. Everything the app computes stays on your phone.

2. Data handled on your device

The following is stored locally, in the app's private storage, and is accessible to no one else:

• your daily step count, and the internal counter values used to compute it;
• your optional profile: height, weight and, if you wish, gender — used solely to estimate distance, energy burned and exhaled CO₂;
• your preferences: language, detection sensitivity, displayed modules, sound, vibration, automatic or manual mode.

This data is erased when you uninstall the app. It is never backed up to any server.

3. Permissions requested, and why

• Physical activity (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION): lets the app read the phone's hardware step counter, in order to show your daily total and estimate distance, energy and CO₂ from it. These readings never leave the device. If you decline this permission the app still works: it then estimates steps from the accelerometer, less accurately.
• Vibration (VIBRATE): makes the phone vibrate on each step. You can turn it off inside the app.

The accelerometer, which triggers the hoofbeat sound in real time, requires no permission and cannot identify you.

4. No sharing, no transmission

No data is transmitted, shared, rented or sold to anyone, including the app's publisher. There is no gogonut server.

5. External links

The app contains one link to simonertel.net, which opens in your browser. That website is governed by its own policy.

6. This website

The website gogonut.200.work measures page visits with Umami, a self-hosted tool: it uses no cookies, collects no personal data and does not track you across sites. It only keeps aggregated page counts. The app itself contains no analytics whatsoever.

7. Children

Since the app collects no data, it is suitable for all audiences, including children.

8. Your rights

Because nothing is collected or transmitted, we hold no data about you to access, correct, export or delete. Uninstalling the app erases everything it had stored.

9. Changes

This policy may change if the app changes. Any modification will be published on this page, with a new update date.
